Administration: i.p.; every other day (gestation day 9 until birth for pregnant mice; 4 to 32 days for 8-week-old BALB/c and 8-12-week-old BALB/c.nu mice; 8 days for 6-month-old BALB/c mice; 12 days for 12-week-old BALB/c.nu mice); single dose at 10 days of age for pups
Result: Down-regulated CD19 expression on B cells.
Reduced splenic and peritoneal B-1a cells at 4, 9, and 23 days of age in neonates.
Reduced B-2 cells by 40% at day 4, which recovered to 92-98% of control levels by days 9 and 23 in neonates.
Reduced splenic T cells by 46% at day 4, which recovered by day 23 in neonates.
Reduced peritoneal B-1a cells gradually to 40% of control levels after 4.5 weeks of adult treatment.
Left splenic B-2 cell recovery and bone marrow B cell precursor populations in BALB/c.nu mice unchanged.
Reduced total peritoneal B-1a cells to 73% of control levels in 6-month-old mice.
Reduced BrdUrd-positive B-1a cells by 60%, while leaving BrdUrd-negative B-1a cell numbers unchanged.
