FAHD2A is a Tautomerase that converts enol-oxaloacetate, a strong inhibitor of succinate dehydrogenase, to the physiological keto form of oxaloacetate. It is thereby required to maximize aerobic respiration efficiency by preventing succinate dehydrogenase inhibition[1].
