Description

Antidiabetic agent 8 is an orally active multi-target inhibitor, with IC50 values of 9.79, 6.36 and 19.08 μM against α-glucosidase, α-amylase and PTP1B, respectively. Antidiabetic agent 8 reduces postprandial blood glucose elevation. Antidiabetic agent 8 can be used in the research of type 2 diabetes[1].

In Vitro

Antidiabetic agent 8 (compound 5l) shows low cytotoxicity against HEK-293 cells after 24 h, with an IC50 of 138.08 μM, which is much higher than its enzyme inhibitory concentration[1].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

In Vivo

Antidiabetic agent 8 (compound 5l) (20 mg/kg; p.o.; single dose) reduces the postprandial blood glucose AUC0-t by 12.08% in normal mice subjected to oral sucrose loading[1].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Animal Model: KM mice (male, 8-week-old)[1]

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
