Cardio-green butyl acetate
Cardio-green butyl acetate (CaGA) is a potent antifungal fungicide, with a K value of 3.20 × 104 M-1 for binding to Ergosterol in fungal cell membranes. Cardio-green butyl acetate binds specifically and non-covalently to Ergosterol in fungal cell membranes via hydrogen bonding and hydrophobic interactions, triggering local thinning of the cell membrane, disordered lipid arrangement, and content leakage. Cardio-green butyl acetate can be used in studies related to Candida albicans infections.

Cardio-green butyl acetate CaGA (2-16 µg/mL; 2 h) exhibits significant dose-dependent bactericidal activity against planktonic cells of Candida albicans SJ11[1].
Cardio-green butyl acetate (1-4 µg/mL; 5-60 min) induces intracellular protein and nucleic acid leakage, disrupts cell membrane integrity and lipid microdomains, causes cell surface wrinkling and shrinkage deformation, and leads to cell death in Candida albicans SJ11[1].
CaGA (100 µg/mL) specifically binds to ergosterol in a cell-free system, with a K value of 3.20 × 104 M-1[1].
