Description

Insecticidal agent 31 is an insecticide targeting the γ-aminobutyric acid receptor (GABAR). Insecticidal agent 31 exhibits insecticidal activity against Plutella xylostella, Spodoptera frugiperda and Spodoptera exigua. Insecticidal agent 31 can serve as a lead compound for the design and synthesis of novel isoxazole-based insecticides[1].

In Vivo

Insecticidal agent 31 (S-19) (0.1-10 mg/L; topical exposure via treated cabbage leaves; single administration) exhibits potent insecticidal activity against third-instar Plutella xylostella larvae, with 100% mortality at 10 mg/L and 1 mg/L, 90% mortality at 0.1 mg/L, and an LC50 of 0.24 mg/L[1].
Insecticidal agent 31 (S-19) (0.94 mg/L; topical exposure via treated cabbage leaves; single administration) exhibits insecticidal activity against third-instar Spodoptera frugiperda larvae, with an LC50 of 0.94 mg/L[1].
Insecticidal agent 31 (S-19) (0.89 mg/L; topical exposure via treated cabbage leaves; single administration) exhibits insecticidal activity against third-instar Spodoptera exigua larvae, with an LC50 of 0.89 mg/L[1].
Insecticidal agent 31 (S-19) (6.43 mg/L; topical exposure via treated cabbage leaves; single administration) exhibits weak insecticidal activity against third-instar Spodoptera litura larvae, with an LC50 of 6.43 mg/L[1].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Animal Model: Third-instar larvae Plutella xylostella[1]
Dosage: 0.1-10 mg/L
Administration: topical exposure via treated cabbage leaves; single administration
Result: Induced 100% mortality of larvae at 10 mg/L.
Induced 100% mortality of larvae at 1 mg/L.
Induced 90 ± 3% mortality of larvae at 0.1 mg/L.
Reached an LC50 value of 0.24 mg/L against Plutella xylostella.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
