AMCase/CHIA Protein, Mouse (HEK293, His)

Cat. No.: HY-P77559
Handling Instructions

AMCase/CHIA Protein, an enzyme, is a member of the chitinase family that hydrolyzes chitin, a component of the fungal cell wall. It plays a crucial role in the immune response against fungal infections. AMCase/CHIA Protein's potential as a therapeutic target lies in its ability to modulate the immune system and its involvement in allergic diseases and asthma. AMCase/CHIA Protein, Mouse (HEK293, His) is the recombinant mouse-derived AMCase/CHIA protein, expressed by HEK293 , with C-His labeled tag. The total length of AMCase/CHIA Protein, Mouse (HEK293, His) is 452 a.a., with molecular weight of 53-60 kDa.

Background

AMCase/CHIA Protein is an important enzyme involved in the degradation of chitin and chitotriose, which are essential components of the cell walls of fungi, nematodes, and other pathogens. This protein is believed to play a significant role in the defense against these pathogens, contributing to the body's immune response, particularly the T-helper cell type 2 (Th2) immune response. It is also involved in the response to interleukin-13 (IL-13) and the subsequent inflammation caused by IL-13. Additionally, AMCase/CHIA Protein stimulates the production of chemokines by pulmonary epithelial cells and protects lung epithelial cells from apoptosis, promoting the phosphorylation of AKT1. Its ability to function in the inflammatory response and protect cells against apoptosis is hindered by allosamidin, indicating that carbohydrate binding is crucial for its function. The presence of AMCase/CHIA Protein in saliva and gastric juice further suggests its role as a digestive enzyme.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.

  • Specific Activity Calculator

The reconstitution calculator equation

Volume (to add to vial) = Mass (in vial) ÷ Desired Reconstitution Concentration

Volume (to add to vial) = Mass (in vial) ÷ Desired Reconstitution Concentration
= ÷

The dilution calculator equation

Concentration (start) × Volume (start) = Concentration (final) × Volume (final)

This equation is commonly abbreviated as: C1V1 = C2V2

Concentration (start) × Volume (start) = Concentration (final) × Volume (final)
× = ×
C1   V1   C2   V2

The specific activity calculator equation

Specific Activity (Unit/mg) = 106 ÷ Biological Activity (ED50)

Specific Activity (Unit/mg) = 106 ÷ Biological Activity (ED50)
Unit/mg = 106 ÷ ng/mL
