Description

CACNG1 is a key component of the L-VGCC γ subunit and interacts with Gal3. CACNG1 Protein, Human (Cell-Free, His) is a recombinant human CACNG1 protein expressed in E. coli cell-free and tagged with N-10*His.

Background

CACNG1, a key component of the γ subunits of L-VGCCs, interacted with Gal3. Galectin-3 (Gal3) acutely reduces glucose-stimulated insulin secretion (GSIS) in β-cell lines and primary islets in mice and humans. Importantly, Gal3 binds to calcium voltage-gated channel auxiliary subunit gamma 1 (CACNG1) and inhibits calcium influx via the cytomembrane and subsequent glucose-stimulated insulin secretion (GSIS)[1].

Reconstitution

It is not recommended to reconstitute to a concentration less than 100 μg/mL in ddH2O. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% BSA, 5% HSA, 10% FBS or 5% Trehalose).

Storage & Stability

Stored at -20°C for 2 years from date of receipt. After reconstitution, it is stable at 4°C for 1 week or -20°C for longer (with carrier protein). It is recommended to freeze aliquots at -20°C or -80°C for extended storage.

Shipping

Room temperature in continental US; may vary elsewhere.
