CD133/PROM1 Protein-VLP, Human (HEK293, His) is recommended for animal immunization, ELISA. It is not recommended for receptor-ligand interaction detection and SPR/BLI assay since there are other irrelevant membrane proteins of the host on the VLP envelope, and the receptor-ligand interaction will have strong background interference. High requirements for chips and experimental protocols are needed for SPR/BLI assays. If VLP control is required, it is recommended HY-P701236. Tags can only be detected under denaturing conditions.

Background
The CD133/PROM1 Protein-VLP is suggested to potentially play a multifaceted role in cell differentiation, proliferation, and apoptosis, implicating its involvement in fundamental cellular processes. It exhibits the ability to bind cholesterol in cholesterol-containing plasma membrane microdomains, suggesting a role in the organization of the apical plasma membrane in epithelial cells. During early retinal development, CD133/PROM1 acts as a key regulator of disk morphogenesis, showcasing its importance in specific developmental contexts. Moreover, it is involved in the regulation of MAPK and Akt signaling pathways, indicating its potential impact on intracellular signaling cascades. In neuroblastoma cells, CD133/PROM1 suppresses cell differentiation, specifically neurite outgrowth, in a RET-dependent manner. The protein interacts with CDHR1 and actin filaments, suggesting its involvement in protein-protein and protein-cytoskeleton interactions. Additionally, it interacts with NAT8 and NAT8B, adding to the complexity of its molecular associations and potential functional roles.
Verified Bioactivity
Measured by its binding ability in a functional ELISA. Immobilized PROM1 at 5 μg/mL can bind Anti-PROM1 recombinant antibody , the EC50 is ≤2 ng/mL.
