Background
The Fc gamma RIIIB/CD16b Protein acts as a receptor for the Fc region of immunoglobulins gamma, exhibiting low affinity and binding to both complexed or aggregated IgG as well as monomeric IgG. In contrast to Fc gamma RIIIA, Fc gamma RIIIB lacks the ability to mediate antibody-dependent cytotoxicity and phagocytosis.
