IFN-alpha 17/IFNA17 Protein, Human (His)
Based on 1 Customer Validation
IFN-alpha 17 (IFNA17) is an antivirus drug. Type I Interferons (INFαs and INF β) are proinflammatory cytokines that promote atherosclerosis. IFNα, a cytokine with multiple functions in innate and adaptive immunity and a potent inhibitor of HIV, exerts antiviral activity. IFN-alpha 17/IFNA17 Protein, Human (His) is the recombinant human-derived IFN-alpha 17/IFNA17 protein, expressed by E. coli , with N-6*His tag.

Biological Activity
Description
IFN-alpha 17 (IFNA17) is an antivirus drug. Type I Interferons (INFαs and INF β) are proinflammatory cytokines that promote atherosclerosis. IFNα, a cytokine with multiple functions in innate and adaptive immunity and a potent inhibitor of HIV, exerts antiviral activity[1][2][3]. IFN-alpha 17/IFNA17 Protein, Human (His) is the recombinant human-derived IFN-alpha 17/IFNA17 protein, expressed by E. coli , with N-6*His tag.
Background
IFNs are named after their ability to “interfere” with viral replication within host cells. IFNs are presently classified into three groups: type I, type II, and type III. The type I IFNs include all IFNαs, IFNβ, IFNε, IFNκ, IFNω, and IFNν. IFNα, a cytokine with multiple functions in innate and adaptive immunity and a potent inhibitor of HIV, exerts antiviral activity, in part, by enhancing apolipoprotein B mRNA-editing enzyme-catalytic polypeptide-like 3 (APOBEC3) family members. The genes for type I interferon (IFN), which include 14 IFN-alpha genes, 1 IFN-beta gene, 1 IFN-omega gene, and a number of IFN-omega pseudogenes, are clustered on human chromosome 9[1][2][3].
