RuBi-Glutamate hexafluorophosphate sodium

Cat. No.: HY-131885 Purity: 82.94%
Handling Instructions Technical Support

RuBi-Glutamate hexafluorophosphate sodium is a neuronal activator. RuBi-Glutamate hexafluorophosphate sodium photocleaves to release glutamate upon one- or two-photon excitation, activating glutamate receptors in cortical pyramidal neurons. RuBi-Glutamate hexafluorophosphate sodium reduces peak amplitude of evoked GABAergic inhibitory postsynaptic currents in its caged form. RuBi-Glutamate hexafluorophosphate sodium can be used for the research of Huntington's disease.

Description

RuBi-Glutamate hexafluorophosphate sodium is a neuronal activator. RuBi-Glutamate hexafluorophosphate sodium photocleaves to release glutamate upon one- or two-photon excitation, activating glutamate receptors in cortical pyramidal neurons. RuBi-Glutamate hexafluorophosphate sodium reduces peak amplitude of evoked GABAergic inhibitory postsynaptic currents in its caged form. RuBi-Glutamate hexafluorophosphate sodium can be used for the research of Huntington's disease[1][2].

In Vitro

RuBi-Glutamate (3 mM) hexafluorophosphate sodium induces a 41% smaller intracellular sodium transient (a marker of glutamate transport activity) in SR101+ striatal astrocytes from Q175 homozygous Huntington's disease (HD) mice compared to WT mice after photolytic uncaging[2].
RuBi-Glutamate (0.1-3 mM) hexafluorophosphate sodium induces GTCs in SR101+ striatal astrocytes that are significantly smaller in Q175 homozygous HD mice than WT mice after photolytic uncaging[2].
RuBi-Glutamate (1 mM) hexafluorophosphate sodium induces Glutamate-induced spine current (GISCs) in WT striatal projection neurons[2].

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
