SOD1-Derlin-1-IN-3 is a mutant SOD1 (SOD1mut) inhibitor. SOD1-Derlin-1-IN-3 blocks the interaction between SOD1mut and Derlin-1 by preferentially binding to the Derlin-1 binding region (DBR) of SOD1mut, without affecting SOD enzyme activity. SOD1-Derlin-1-IN-3 can be used for research on amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).

In Vitro

SOD1-Derlin-1-IN-3 (compound #56-26) (50 μM; 16 h) does not alter the superoxide dismutase activity of recombinant SOD1^WT or SOD1^G93A in vitro^[1].
SOD1-Derlin-1-IN-3 (50 μM; 16 h) inhibits the interaction between SOD1^G93A and Derlin-1 in purified protein complexes in vitro^[1].
SOD1-Derlin-1-IN-3 potently inhibits the interaction between SOD1^G93A and Derlin-1 in the TR-FRET assay, with an IC₅₀ of 6.20 μM^[1].
