(Z)-9-Dodecenyl acetate
(Z)-9-Dodecenyl acetate is a monounsaturated dodecenyl acetate, an EAG stimulant and an attraction inhibitor. (Z)-9-Dodecenyl acetate is a component of moth sex pheromones. (Z)-9-Dodecenyl acetate elicits electroantennogram (EAG) responses in the antennae of male Choristoneura rosaceana. (Z)-9-Dodecenyl acetate can be used in studies related to pest control.

Biological Activity
(Z)-9-dodecenyl acetate (0.1-100 ng) elicits a significant electroantennogram response in antennae of male Choristoneura rosaceana moths at concentrations of 10 ng and 100 ng[1].
(Z)-9-dodecenyl acetate (0.01-1 mg; 2-week deployment intervals) inhibits attraction of male Choristoneura rosaceana moths to synthetic pheromone when mixed directly, with significant inhibition observed at 0.1 mg and 1 mg concentrations[1].
(Z)-9-dodecenyl acetate, when deployed as a 1 mg source at the entrances of Choristoneura rosaceana pheromone-baited traps (10 cm from the pheromone source), reduces male moth trap catch by more than 90%[1].
