Biological Activity
Binding of 1H-Indole-6-carboxylic acid to the top site of HIV-1 protease chain B stabilizes the protease and the 3TL-protease complex, inhibits the flexibility of the enzyme flaps, increases the binding affinity between 3TL and the protease by approximately 12-15 kcal/mol, and simultaneously causes partial opening of the protease flaps[1].
