HIV Protease
HIV protease, a homodimeric aspartyl protease, is crucial for the viral life-cycle, cleaving proviral polyproteins, hence creating mature protein components that are required for the formation of an infectious virus. HIV protease cleaves newly synthesized polyproteins at the appropriate places to create the mature protein components of an infectious HIV virion. HIV protease is a critical drug target in designing anti-retroviral drugs to treat HIV/AIDS (acquired immune deficiency syndrome).
HIV-1 protease permits viral maturation by processing the Gag and Gag-Pro-Pol polyproteins. It recognizes and cleaves more than 12 different substrates leading to viral maturation. Similar to that of HIV-1, HIV-2 protease is also a homodimeric aspartyl enzyme that plays a vital role in the HIV life-cycle through processing of Gag and Gag-Pro-Pol precursor polyproteins leading to viral maturation.

ddCTP
0 ImagesCat. No.: HY-137697CAS No.: 66004-77-1ddCTP is a type of chain-terminating deoxynucleotide. ddCTP can be incorporated into the extension primer chain that lacks the 3'-hydroxyl group, thereby terminating primer extension, viral genome replication, and DNA synthesis. ddCTP can distinguish almost identical RNA through distinguishable extension products in primer extension inhibition experiments. ddCTP is the active metabolite of Zalcitabine (HY-17392), which can competitively inhibit HIV reverse transcriptase, terminate the synthesis of viral DNA chains, and thereby inhibit HIV replication. -

DMP 323
0 ImagesCat. No.: HY-117747CAS No.: 151867-81-1Synonyms: JCR 424; XM 323DMP 323 is a potent, nonpeptide cyclic urea inhibitor of HIV protease, effective against both HIV type 1 and type 2. Designed using structural information and database searching, it competitively inhibits the cleavage of both peptide and HIV-1 gag polyprotein substrates. DMP 323 shows comparable potency to other highly effective HIV protease inhibitors like A-80987 and Ro-31-8959. Importantly, its efficacy against HIV protease remains unaffected by human plasma or serum, suggesting low affinity for plasma proteins. Furthermore, DMP 323 demonstrates minimal inhibition of various mammalian proteases at concentrations much higher than those needed for HIV protease inhibition, highlighting its specificity for viral targets. -

Fosamprenavir sodium
0 ImagesCat. No.: HY-78726ACAS No.: 226700-80-7Synonyms: Amprenavir phosphate sodium; GW 433908 sodiumFosamprenavir sodium is an orally active inhibitor targeting HIV-1 protease and is a prodrug of Amprenavir (HY-17430). Fosamprenavir sodium is hydrolyzed into Amprenavir (VX-478) by cell phosphatases in the intestinal epithelium. Amprenavir binds to the active site of HIV-1 protease, preventing the processing of viral gag and gag-pol polyprotein precursors, thereby inhibiting the formation of mature infectious virus particles and exerting anti-HIV-1 infection activity. Fosamprenavir sodium can be used for the study of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV-1) infection. -
