Acetate kinase (Crude Enzyme)

Acetate kinase (crude enzyme) (EC 2.7.2.1) facilitates the production of acetyl-CoA by phosphorylating acetate in the presence of ATP and divalent cations; it plays a significant role in glycolysis, and its enzyme levels can be elevated by excess glucose.
