Background

  • Function

Alpha-1D Adrenergic Receptor is an Alpha-1 adrenergic receptors are G protein-coupled receptors for catecholamines that signal through the G(q) family of G proteins, including G(q) and G(11). Upon activation, they stimulate the phosphatidylinositol-calcium second messenger pathway, leading to calcium release from intracellular stores and activation of protein kinase C. ADRA1D binds the catecholamine ligands norepinephrine and epinephrine[1][2][3][4].

  • Subcellular Localization

    Cell membrane

  • Isoforms & Post-Translational Modification

Alpha-1D Adrenergic Receptor has an amino acid length of 572, molecular weight is 60463 Da.
Palmitoylated. Palmitoylation by ZDHHC21 may increase the expression of the receptor and regulate downstream signaling.

  • Subunit

Interacts with FLNA (via filamin repeat 21); increases PKA-mediated phosphorylation of FLNA
