Tissue_specificity:It is expressed on the surface epithelial cells of the respiratory tract. It is mainly expressed in the mucous cells of the submucosal glands of the respiratory tract. It is highly expressed in the sublingual glands. It is also found in the submandibular glands, cervical endometrium, gallbladder, and pancreas.
Induction:Regulated by all-trans-retinoic acid (ATRA) in a cell-type specific manner -

The CTCK domains of two polypeptides associate in the endoplasmic reticulum to generate intermolecularly disulfide-bonded dimers (PubMed:31570524). These dimers progress to the Golgi apparatus, which is a more acidic environment than the endoplasmic reticulum (By similarity).
