Erythrosine B aluminum serves as a membrane-impermeant live-cell dye for Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, primarily staining dead cells with damaged plasma membranes. Erythrosine B aluminum exhibits photosensitive larvicidal toxicity against Culex pipiens quinquefasciatus larvae.
