Biological Activity: 9-Ethoxy-9-oxononanoic acid is a C-11 fatty acid that has an ethyl ester group at the end of the saturated tail. The carboxylic acid can react with primary amine groups in the presence of activators (e.g. EDC, or HATU) to form a stable amide bond. Azelaic Acid Monoethyl Ester has antifungal activity against Cladosporium herbarum.
