IUPAC Name: (2R,6S)-3-((S)-2-(benzyloxy)propyl)-6,11,11-trimethyl-1,2,3,4,5,6-hexahydro-2,6-methanobenzo[d]azocin-10-ol
InChIKey: VCCBCXVFGHTDQN-UODBTFMRSA-N
SMILES: OC1=C2C([C@]3(C)CCN(C[C@@H](OCC4=CC=CC=C4)C)[C@](C3(C)C)([H])C2)=CC=C1
Biological Activity: Crobenetine (BIII-890), a benzomorphan derivative, is a potent, selective, and highly use-dependent Na+ channel blocker. Crobenetine displaces [3H]BTX from site 2 of the Na+ channel (IC50=49 nM) in rat brain synaptosomes, yet exhibits only low binding affinity for other receptors and ion channels. Crobenetine protects brain tissue from the deleterious effects of focal cerebral ischemia in rodents[1].
