Biological Activity: 3-Amino-3-(4-methoxyphenyl)propanoic acid is a β-amino acid. 3-Amino-3-(4-methoxyphenyl)propanoic acid can be stereoselectively synthesized using alanine as an amino donor and 3-(4-methoxyphenyl)3-oxopropanoic acid as an amino acceptor with a β-amino acid transaminase. 3-Amino-3-(4-methoxyphenyl)propanoic acid can be enantiomerically enriched from a racemic mixture using pyruvic acid as an amino acceptor with a β-amino acid transaminase. 3-Amino-3-(4-methoxyphenyl)propanoic acid can be used for research of bacterial and fungal infections[1].
