Decyl β-D-maltopyranoside
Based on 1 Customer Validation
Decyl β-D-maltopyranoside is an epithelial permeability enhancer. Decyl β-D-maltopyranoside regulates the paracellular transport pathway and increases the permeability of molecules and proteins transported via the paracellular route. Decyl β-D-maltopyranoside enhances the transepithelial paracellular permeability of EPO across cell monolayers.

Biological Activity
Decyl β-D-maltopyranoside (0.05-0.1% (w/v); 180 min) increases paracellular transepithelial permeability of EPO across Caco-2 cell monolayers in a concentration-dependent manner, with 0.1% (w/v) elevating EPO Papp to 1.4 × 10-7 cm/s, while causing reversible monolayer tight junction changes at concentrations up to 0.1% (w/v)[1].
Decyl β-D-maltopyranoside (0.05-0.15% (w/v); 180 min) exhibits minimal cytotoxicity to Caco-2 cells at concentrations up to 0.075% (w/v) after 3-hour exposure, with 0.1% (w/v) causing reversible reduced metabolic activity and 0.15% (w/v) inducing severe cell death[1].
MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Result:Had no impact on Caco-2 cell viability after 180 min exposure, with viability remaining at ~100% of control levels.
Had no impact on Caco-2 cell viability after 180 min exposure, with viability remaining at ~100% of control levels.
Reduced cell viability to ~70% of control after 180 min exposure, with viability recovering to ~75% of control after 24 hours in fresh medium.
Caused severe toxicity, reducing viability to ~10% of control after 180 min exposure.
