Lys-(Des-Arg9,Leu8)-Bradykinin TFA is a selective bradykinin B1 receptor (BDKRB1) antagonist. Lys-(Des-Arg9,Leu8)-Bradykinin TFA inhibits local inflammatory edema. Lys-(Des-Arg9,Leu8)-Bradykinin TFA induces the production of systemic acute-phase proteins. Lys-(Des-Arg9,Leu8)-Bradykinin TFA is applicable to research related to peptidoglycan-polysaccharide-induced acute arthritis[1].

In Vivo

Lys-(Des-Arg9,Leu8)-Bradykinin (0.5-5 mg/kg per day; s.c.; continuous infusion; 6 days) TFA significantly reduces PG-APS-induced hindpaw edema at 72 hours and increases liver T-kininogen content by 45% at 24 hours in female Lewis rats with PG-APS-induced arthritis[1].

Animal Model: Lewis rats (female, 150-170 gm, PG-APS-induced arthritis)[1]
Dosage: 500 µg/kg per day; 5 mg/kg per day
Administration: s.c.; continuous infusion; 6 days
Result: Showed no significant effect on hindpaw edema or joint diameter at 24, 48, or 72 hours after PG-APS injection at 500 µg/kg per day.
Significantly reduced hindpaw volume at 72 hours after PG-APS injection at 5 mg/kg per day.
Increased liver T-kininogen content to 413 µg/gm of liver, a 45% increase compared to control, at 24 hours after PG-APS injection at 5 mg/kg per day.
Showed no significant effect on liver T-kininogen content at 72 hours after PG-APS injection at 5 mg/kg per day.
