Neojiangyouaconitine is a diterpenoid alkaloid cytotoxin isolated from Aconitum soongaricum var. pubescens. Neojiangyouaconitine exhibits cytotoxic activity against human breast cancer, prostate cancer and lung cancer cells, with weak inhibitory effect on HeLa cells. Neojiangyouaconitine has the ability to kill specific tumor cell lines and can be applied to the research on the mechanisms of related cancers such as breast cancer, prostate cancer and lung cancer.

Description

Neojiangyouaconitine is a diterpenoid alkaloid cytotoxin isolated from Aconitum soongaricum var. pubescens. Neojiangyouaconitine exhibits cytotoxic activity against human breast cancer, prostate cancer and lung cancer cells, with weak inhibitory effect on HeLa cells. Neojiangyouaconitine has the ability to kill specific tumor cell lines and can be applied to the research on the mechanisms of related cancers such as breast cancer, prostate cancer and lung cancer[1].

In Vitro

Neojiangyouaconitine (compound 9) exhibits cytotoxic activity against MCF-7, PC-3 and A549 human tumor cell lines, with IC50 values of 68.7 μM, 40.2 μM and 42.4 μM, respectively; whereas it shows no cytotoxic activity against HeLa cells (IC50>100 μM)[1].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
