Nerve Growth Factor 2.5S,murine submaxillary gland
Nerve Growth Factor 2.5S,murine submaxillary gland is a neurotrophic polypeptide and protein growth factor isolated from murine submaxillary glands. Nerve Growth Factor 2.5S,murine submaxillary gland increases the survival rate, phagocytic capacity and superoxide anion production level of mouse cells. Nerve Growth Factor 2.5S,murine submaxillary gland acts through cell membrane surface receptors to mediate the differentiation and maintenance of adrenergic neurons in the sympathetic nervous system. Nerve Growth Factor 2.5S,murine submaxillary gland loses its activity and undergoes dimer dissociation due to oxidation; it remains active after modification of specific tryptophan residues, while its tyrosine residues are not essential for activity. Nerve Growth Factor 2.5S,murine submaxillary gland may play a role in the inflammatory process.

In Vitro
2.5S nerve growth factor (0.5-500 ng/mL; 1-6 days) dose-dependently increases the survival rate of neutrophils in mouse peripheral blood and peritoneal cavity: at a concentration of 50 ng/mL, the survival rate of blood neutrophils reaches 20% after 6 days of culture, and it significantly enhances the survival rate of peritoneal neutrophils at all tested time points[1].
2.5S nerve growth factor (0.5-500 ng/mL; 20 min) enhances the phagocytosis of hydrophilic microspheres by mouse peritoneal neutrophils, exhibits significant activity at 0.5 ng/mL, and reaches the maximum effect at 5 ng/mL[1].
2.5S nerve growth factor (50 ng/mL; 15-60 min preincubation) enhances superoxide anion production in mouse peritoneal neutrophils induced by PMA (HY-18739) and opsonized zymosan, with the peak activity observed after 30 minutes of preincubation[1].
