Description

Annexin A13 Protein, Human is a 35-kDa multifunctional protein which belongs to the annexin family. Annexin A13 is highly expressed in the digestive system and may plays a role in apoptotic cell-mediated immunosuppression, hypertension, and cell death recognition. Annexin A13 can be used as biomarker in CRC biomarker in colorectal cancer (CRC)[1].

Background

The Annexins comprise a family of proteins that are involved in many aspects of cellular membrane dynamics and the regulation of membrane-associated proteins.
ANX A13 is a calcium-dependent phospholipid-binding protein being preferentially located on the cytosolic face of the plasma membrane. Annexin A13 plays a role in cytoskeletal interactions, phospholipase inhibition, regulation of cellular growth, and intracellular signal transduction pathways.
Human Annexin A13 shares approximately 86% and 91% aa sequence identity with mouse and dog Annexin A13.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.

The reconstitution calculator equation

Volume (to add to vial) = Mass (in vial) ÷ Desired Reconstitution Concentration

Volume (to add to vial) = Mass (in vial) ÷ Desired Reconstitution Concentration
= ÷

The dilution calculator equation

Concentration (start) × Volume (start) = Concentration (final) × Volume (final)

This equation is commonly abbreviated as: C1V1 = C2V2

Concentration (start) × Volume (start) = Concentration (final) × Volume (final)
× = ×
C1   V1   C2   V2

The specific activity calculator equation

Specific Activity (Unit/mg) = 106 ÷ Biological Activity (ED50)

Specific Activity (Unit/mg) = 106 ÷ Biological Activity (ED50)
Unit/mg = 106 ÷ ng/mL
