ARMET/MANF Protein, Human (HEK293, His)
Based on 1 Customer Validation
ARMET/MANF Protein, Human (HEK293, His) expresses in HEK293 cells with a His tag. Armet/MANF, localized in the ER and Golgi, is a secreted protein and acts as a gene up-regulated by various forms of ER stress.

Biological Activity
Description
ARMET/MANF Protein, Human (HEK293, His) expresses in HEK293 cells with a His tag. Armet/MANF, localized in the ER and Golgi, is a secreted protein and acts as a gene up-regulated by various forms of ER stress[1].
Background
Armet (also known as MANF) acts as a gene up-regulated by various forms of ER stress in different cell lines and by cerebral ischaemia in rat. Armet interacts with mutant matrilin-3. Armet is a genotype-specific ER stress response protein with substrate specificities, and that aggregation of mutant matrilin-3 is a key disease trigger in multiple epiphyseal dysplasia (MED) that could be exploited as a potential therapeutic target[1].
Verified Bioactivity
Measured in a cell proliferation assay using rat C6 cells. The ED50 for this effect is 1.14 μg/mL, corresponding to a specific activity is 877.192 units/mg.

<1 EU/μg, determined by LAL method.
It is not recommended to reconstitute to a concentration less than 100 μg/mL in ddH2O. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% BSA, 5% HSA, 10% FBS or 5% Trehalose).
Stored at -20°C for 2 years from date of receipt. After reconstitution, it is stable at 4°C for 1 week or -20°C for longer (with carrier protein). It is recommended to freeze aliquots at -20°C or -80°C for extended storage.
