Background
CFP-10 is a secreted protein that acts as a potent host T-cell antigen. It facilitates bacterial translocation from the host (human) phagolysosome to the host cytoplasm and may function as a chaperone to prevent uncontrolled membrane lysis by its partner EsxA.
