Background
Cytochrome b5 type B (CYB5B) is an outer membrane mitochondrial protein, which is the mitochondrial form of Cytochrome b5 (CYB5). CYB5B is a donor of electrons to cytoglobin and expresses in arteriolar ECs and VSMCs. CYB5B may be a potential target for antibody-based therapy of HL and aggressive NHL. Since normal lymphocytes and bone marrow precursor cells lack surface expression of CYB5B, little or no toxicity should be observed during anti-CYB5B immunotherapy. CYB5 is a membrane-bound hemoprotein functioning as an electron carrier for several membrane-bound oxygenases and is a key determinant of human P450 activity in vivo[1][2][3][4].
