GPT2 Protein, Rat (sf9, His)

Customer Review

Based on 1 Customer Validation

GPT2 protein is predicted by L-alanine:2-oxoglutarate aminotransferase activity and is involved in insulin response, gluconeogenesis, and testosterone response. It is located in the extracellular space and mitochondria, is a biomarker for type 2 diabetes, and is orthologous to human GPT2. GPT2 Protein, Rat (sf9, His) is the recombinant rat-derived GPT2 protein, expressed by Sf9 insect cells , with C-His labeled tag.

Biological Activity

Description

GPT2 protein is predicted by L-alanine:2-oxoglutarate aminotransferase activity and is involved in insulin response, gluconeogenesis, and testosterone response. It is located in the extracellular space and mitochondria, is a biomarker for type 2 diabetes, and is orthologous to human GPT2. GPT2 Protein, Rat (sf9, His) is the recombinant rat-derived GPT2 protein, expressed by Sf9 insect cells , with C-His labeled tag.

Background

GPT2 Protein is predicted to enable L-alanine:2-oxoglutarate aminotransferase activity and participates in various processes, including the cellular response to insulin stimulus, positive regulation of gluconeogenesis, and response to testosterone. It is localized in both the extracellular space and mitochondrion. Recognized as a biomarker of type 2 diabetes mellitus, GPT2 is the orthologous counterpart to human GPT2 (glutamic--pyruvic transaminase 2). Notably, the gene displays biased expression, with prominent levels observed in the Adrenal (RPKM 312.5), Liver (RPKM 220.8), and eight other tissues, emphasizing its specific roles in metabolic processes and signaling pathways across various tissues.
