Nectin-1 Protein, Mouse (HEK293, His)

Customer Review

Based on 1 Customer Validation

Nectin-1 is critical in cell adhesion and synaptogenesis, promotes neurite outgrowth, and serves as a receptor for alphaherpesviruses, including HSV-1, HSV-2, and pseudorabies virus. It promotes viral entry and is involved in homodimerization, trans-heterodimerization with NECTIN3, and interactions with FGFR, AFDN, and HSV glycoprotein D. Nectin-1 Protein, Mouse (HEK293, His) is the recombinant mouse-derived Nectin-1 protein, expressed by HEK293 , with C-His labeled tag.

Description

Background

Nectin-1, a pivotal player in cell adhesion and synaptogenesis, exhibits neurite outgrowth-promoting activity, underscoring its importance in neurodevelopmental processes. Functioning as a receptor for alphaherpesviruses, including HSV-1, HSV-2, and pseudorabies virus, Nectin-1 facilitates viral entry into cells. The protein engages in both cis- and trans-homodimerization and can also form trans-heterodimers with NECTIN3, initiating the formation of puncta adherentia junctions crucial for axon-dendrite interactions. Additionally, its interaction with FGFR1, FGFR2, and FGFR3, as well as AFDN, establishes connections with the actin cytoskeleton, contributing to its diverse cellular roles. Notably, Nectin-1 interacts with HSV glycoprotein D (gD), highlighting its involvement in viral infection processes.

Verified Bioactivity

Measured by its binding ability in a functional ELISA. When Recombinant Human Nectin-3 is present at 1 μg/mL, can bind Recombinant Mouse Nectin-1. The ED50 for this effect is 151 ng/mL.
