Serpin E1 Protein, Rat (HEK293, His) is one important member of the serine proteinase inhibitor E superfamily that plays a crucial role in the fibrinolytic system. The Serpin E1 protein is a single-chain glycoprotein composed of 379 amino acids. The active site of the protein is Arg346-Met347. SERPINE1 encodes plasminogen activator inhibitor type 1 (PAI-1), which serves as the primary inhibitor of urokinase plasminogen activator (uPA) and tissue-type plasminogen activator (tPA). The Serpin E1 protein can quickly inhibit the formation of plasmin. Serpin E1 can be transcribed through several signaling cascades, including pro-fibrogenic and pro-inflammatory pathways. Serpin E1 is a serine proteinase inhibitor, serves as an important regulator of extracellular matrix remodeling^[1][2][3]. Serpin E1 Protein, Rat (HEK293, His) is the recombinant rat-derived Serpin E1 protein, expressed by HEK293 , with C-His, C-10*His labeled tag.

The SERPINE1 protein is a single-chain glycoprotein composed of 379 amino acids that are mainly synthesized and secreted by platelets, megakaryocytes, hepatocytes, adipocytes, smooth muscle cells, and vascular endothelial cells. The active site of the protein is Arg346-Met347. The half-life of activated SERPINE1 at 37°C is 1–2 h, transforming spontaneously into the latent form. in the fibrinolytic system, SERPINE1 plays a physiological role as an inhibitor of fibrinogen activators. SerpinE1 drives a cell-autonomous pathogenic signaling in Hutchinson-Gilford progeria syndrome^[1].
SERPINE1 was identified as a regulator of glioblastoma cell dispersal and downregulation of SERPINE1 limited the proliferation and invasion of glioma cells^[3].

Measured by its ability to inhibit uPA cleavage of a peptide substrate, N-carbobenzyloxy-Gly-Gly-Arg-7-amido-4-methylcoumarin (Z-GGR-AMC). The IC₅₀ value is < 80 nM.
