AKR1B10 - aldo-keto reductase family 1 member B10 Gene

Also Known as HIS; HSI; ARL1; ARL-1; ALDRLn; AKR1B11; AKR1B12

Species: Homo sapiens

Gene Type: protein coding
Gene ID: 57016

About AKR1B10

Cytogenetic location: 7q33 Genomic coordinates (GRCh38): 7:134,527,567-134,541,412 (from NCBI)

This gene has 4 transcripts (splice variants), 563 orthologues and 16 paralogues. Biased expression in duodenum (RPKM 190.1), stomach (RPKM 138.2) and 4 other tissues.

Summary

This gene encodes a member of the aldo/keto reductase superfamily, which consists of more than 40 known Enzymes and proteins. This member can efficiently reduce aliphatic and aromatic aldehydes, and it is less active on hexoses. It is highly expressed in adrenal gland, small intestine, and colon, and may play an important role in liver carcinogenesis. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
