Amino acid and peptide derivatives of 7-Amino-4-(trifluoromethyl)coumarin are used to monitor peptidase activities[1].
7-Amino-4-(trifluoromethyl)coumarin fluoresces at neutral pH with excitation and emission wavelengths of 400 nm and 500 nm, respectively. The concentration and fluorescence show a linear relationship in the range of 10 to 300 pmol/3 mL of reaction mixture[2].
