Chimeric antigen receptor (CAR)

Definition:

Chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) is a genetically recombinant receptor that can be transduced to different immune cells, such as NK cells and T lymphocytes. The CAR redirects the specifcity of the T/NK cell against a specifc antigen on tumor cells. CAR can identify diverse target antigens including carbohydrates, proteins, glycolipids, etc.
