Biological Activity: Sarafotoxin S6d (STX-b) is a polypeptide toxin isolated from the venom of the Israeli sand boa constrictor. Sarafotoxin S6d induces multiple electrocardiogram (ECG) changes including myocardial ischemia and hyperkalemia. Sarafotoxin S6d induces strong extracellular calcium-dependent vasoconstriction in rat aorta and exhibits positive inotropic effects in rat atria. Sarafotoxin S6d can be used in the study of cardiovascular diseases[1].
