Biological Activity: Balanophonin B is a selective inhibitor (IC50=1.46 μg/mL) that targets the lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced nitric oxide (NO) production pathway and can be isolated from Lithocarpus pachylepis. Balanophonin B inhibits the production of NO in LPS-stimulated RAW264.7 macrophages and exerts anti-inflammatory activity to reduce the inflammatory response. Balanophonin B can be used for anti-inflammatory drug development and biological activity research of natural lignan compounds[1].
