Dihydromelilotoside
Dihydromelilotoside is an insecticide present in the stems of Dendrobium aurantiacum var. denneanum, sugarcane juice, and the aerial parts of Ajuga lupulina. Dihydromelilotoside can be used in studies related to Chagas disease (American trypanosomiasis).

Biological Activity
Dihydromelilotoside is present in extracts of D. aurantiacum var. denneanum, D. thyrsiflorum, and D. chrysotoxum, with a characteristic ESI-MSn fragmentation pathway starting from a protonated molecular ion at m/z 329[1].
Dihydromelilotoside (0.01-15 μg/mL; 60 min, 45 min) is accurately quantified in Dendrobium plant extracts via the validated HPLC/ESI-MS2 MRM method, with concentrations ranging from 0.32-1.52 mg/g in D. aurantiacum var. denneanum, 1.21 mg/g in D. thyrsiflorum, and 0.64 mg/g in D. chrysotoxum, and a LOQ of 0.01 μg/mL[1].
Dihydromelilotoside (compound 5) (0.123-90 mg/mL; 48-96 h) moderately inhibits Trypanosoma cruzi growth with an IC50 of 56.3 mg/mL, shows no meaningful activity against Trypanosoma brucei rhodesiense, Leishmania donovani, or Plasmodium falciparum, and has low cytotoxicity against rat skeletal myoblast L6 cells[3].
MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Cell Line:Trypanosoma cruzi (Tulahuen strain C2C4), Trypanosoma brucei rhodesiense (STIB 900 strain), Leishmania donovani (MHOM/ET/67/L82 strain), Plasmodium falciparum (K1 strain), rat skeletal myoblast L6 cells
-
Concentration:0.123-90 mg/mL
-
Incubation Time:48 h (P. falciparum); 72 h (T. b. rhodesiense, L. donovani, L6 cells); 96 h (T. cruzi)
-
Result:Inhibited the growth of T. cruzi with an IC50 value of 56.3 mg/mL.
Showed no significant activity against T. b. rhodesiense, L. donovani, or P. falciparum (IC50 values >100 mg/mL, >100 mg/mL, and >50 mg/mL, respectively).
Exhibited low cytotoxicity against L6 cells with an IC50 value of 76.2 mg/mL.
