Description

Homoisopogon B is a homoisoflavane found in the tubers of Ophiopogon japonicus. Homoisopogon B shows cytotoxic activity against cancer cells. Homoisopogon B can be used for the research of cancer, such as human lung adenocarcinoma and human melanoma[1].

In Vitro

Homoisopogon B (Compound 2) exhibits weak cytotoxicity against human lung adenocarcinoma LU-1 and human melanoma SK-Mel-2 cells, with IC50 values of 17.14 ± 2.41 μM and 28.29 ± 3.52 μM respectively, and no detectable activity against human epidermoid carcinoma KB cells at concentrations up to 30 μM[1].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
