Human IL34 mRNA encodes the human interleukin 34 (IL34) protein, a cytokine that promotes the differentiation and viability of monocytes and macrophages through the colony-stimulating factor-1 receptor (CSF1R).
Human IL4 mRNA encodes the human interleukin 4 (IL4) protein, a pleiotropic cytokine produced by activated T cells. IL4 is considered an important cytokine for tissue repair, counterbalancing the effects of proinflammatory type 1 cytokines, however, it also promotes allergic airway inflammation. Moreover, IL-4 mediates and regulates a variety of human host responses such as allergic, anti-parasitic, wound healing, and acute inflammation.
Human IL5 mRNA encodes the human interleukin 5 (IL5) protein, a cytokine that acts as a growth and differentiation factor for both B cells and eosinophils. IL5 plays a major role in the regulation of eosinophil formation, maturation, recruitment and survival. The increased production of this cytokine may be related to pathogenesis of eosinophil-dependent inflammatory diseases.
Human IL5RA mRNA encodes the human interleukin 5 receptor subunit alpha (IL5RA) protein, an interleukin 5 specific subunit of a heterodimeric cytokine receptor. IL5RA has been found to interact with syndecan binding protein (syntenin), which is required for IL5 mediated activation of the transcription factor SOX4.
Human IL6 mRNA encodes the human interleukin 6 (IL6) protein, a cytokine that functions in inflammation and the maturation of B cells. IL6 has been shown to be an endogenous pyrogen capable of inducing fever in people with autoimmune diseases or infections. The functioning of this gene is implicated in a wide variety of inflammation-associated disease states, including suspectibility to diabetes mellitus and systemic juvenile rheumatoid arthritis.
