Biological Activity
Omega-3 acid ethyl esters decreases triglyceride synthesis, increases peroxisomal beta-oxidation, up-regulates fatty acid metabolism, inhibits fatty acid esterification and release, increases lipoprotein lipase activity, enhances triglyceride clearance, decreases hepatic very-low-density lipoprotein-cholesterol production, alters low-density lipoprotein-cholesterol particle morphology, decreases platelet aggregation, reduces blood pressure and heart rate, lowers ventricular fibrillation or tachycardia risk, decreases vitamin K-dependent clotting factor levels, reduces platelet arachidonic acid and thromboxane A2 levels, and may prolong bleeding time[1].
MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.
