Biological Activity
Description
SHMT1 Protein, Human (HEK293, His) is the recombinant human-derived SHMT1 protein, expressed by HEK293, with C-6*His labeled tag.
Background
SHMT1 is a pyridoxal phosphate-containing enzyme that catalyzes the reversible conversion of serine and tetrahydrofolate to glycine and 5,10-methylenetetrahydrofolate. This reaction provides a carbon unit for the synthesis of methionine, thymidylate, and purine in the cytoplasm. SHMT1 promotes low-grade glioma progression by activating mTORC1 signaling. Targeting SHMT1 and SHMT2 can treat T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia. SHMT1 hypermethylation is significantly associated with elevated homocysteine (Hcy) concentrations in ischemic stroke and can be used as a potential indicator for ischemic stroke in women.

Please refer to the lot-specific COA for specific buffer information.
Note: For SPR assay, please replace the buffer. Primary amine components (e.g., Tris, imidazole) can affect protein-coupled chips.
<1 EU/μg, determined by LAL method.
It is not recommended to reconstitute to a concentration less than 100 μg/mL in ddH2O.
