In Vitro

ε-Poly-L-lysine hydrochloride (MV 2000-5000) (2.5-12.5 μg/mL) inhibits spore germination of Geobacillus stearothermophilus at 2.5 μg/mL, and Bacillus coagulans and B. subtilis at 12.5 μg/mL[1].
ε-Poly-L-lysine hydrochloride (MV 2000-5000) (500 μg/mL) significantly inactivates long-tailed, non-contractile double-stranded DNA bacteriophages, resulting in 0-27% survival rates[1].
ε-Poly-L-lysine hydrochloride (MV 2000-5000) (25-200 μg/mL) inhibits Escherichia coli growth with an MIC of 25-50 μg/mL at pH 5.0-7.0, but its antimicrobial activity is significantly reduced at pH 8.0 (MIC >200 μg/mL)[1].
