(1R,2R)-1-Aminoindan-2-ol can be used as a starting material to prepare an indene-based chiral auxiliary that is used in the aldol reaction. (1R,2R)-1-Aminoindan-2-ol can be used as a starting material in the synthesis of oxazoline-alcohol ligands.
