3-(2-Hydroxyethyl)quinazoline-2,4(1H,3H)-dione (Compound E9) (400 µg/disc; 24 h) exhibits bactericidal activity with inhibition zones of 3 mm against Escherichia coli, 9 mm against Staphylococcus aureus, 8 mm against Neisseria gonorrhoeae, and 12 mm against Pseudomonas syringae[1].
