4-Amino-3-hydroxyphenylalanine (1-7 days) levels decrease time-dependently upon UVA irradiation of human red hair pheomelanin, reflecting the conversion of photolabile benzothiazine moieties to benzothiazole moieties[1].
4-Amino-3-hydroxyphenylalanine (70-157 h) levels decrease time-dependently upon blue light irradiation of bovine RPE melanosomes, reflecting photooxidative conversion of benzothiazine moieties to benzothiazole moieties in pheomelanin[1].
