5-(4-Methoxvphenol)-4-methyl-3H-1,2-dithiole-3-thione
5-(4-Methoxyphenol)-4-methyl-3H-1,2-dithiole-3-thione is a Phase 2 enzyme inducer. 5-(4-Methoxyphenol)-4-methyl-3H-1,2-dithiole-3-thione induces the activity of NAD (P) H:quinone oxidoreductase (QR; NQO1) in hepatoma cells. 5-(4-Methoxyphenol)-4-methyl-3H-1,2-dithiole-3-thione enhances growth hormone production in plasmid-transfected hepatoma cells.

Biological Activity
Description
In Vitro
5-(4-Methoxvphenol)-4-methyl-3H-1,2-dithiole-3-thione (Compound 25) induces quinone reductase activity in Hepa 1c1c7 cells, with a CDQR (the minimum concentration of compound required to double the specific activity of QR) of 38 μM[1].
5-(4-Methoxyphenol)-4-methyl-3H-1,2-dithiole-3-thione stimulates growth hormone production via the 41 bp EpRE in transfected Hepa 1c1c7 cells, with a CDGH (minimum compound concentration required to double GH) of 20 μM[1].
