In Vitro

α-Glucosidase-IN-118 (compound 3bd) (0.125-100 μM; 10 min pre-incubation + 20 min reaction) potently inhibits α-glucosidase from Saccharomyces cerevisiae as an uncompetitive inhibitor, with an IC50 of 2.77 μM and a Ki value of 9.28 μM[1].
α-Glucosidase-IN-118 binds to a pocket near the active site of α-glucosidase from Halomonas sp. H11 via hydrogen bonding, π-π stacking, and halogen bonding interactions, blocking substrate release[1].

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
