Anti-MRSA agent 33 iodide
Anti-MRSA agent 33 iodide is an anti-Methicillin (HY-121544)-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) agent, with MIC values of 2-4 μg/mL. Anti-MRSA agent 33 iodide demonstrates effective biofilm eradication and minimal cytotoxicity toward mammalian cells. Anti-MRSA agent 33 iodide specifically binds to phosphatidylglycerol (PG) on bacterial membranes, leading to membrane disruption, excessive production of ROS, and metabolic collapse, ultimately resulting in bacterial cell death. Anti-MRSA agent 33 iodide reduces bacterial load in a murine skin infection model.

Anti-MRSA agent 33 iodide (Compound IV4) (16-20 h) shows antibacterial activity against S. aureus ATCC 29213, MRSA N315, 10 clinical MRSA isolates (M22, M17, M16, M23, M14, M13, M11, M21, M12 and M20), with MIC values of 2-4 μg/mL[1].
Anti-MRSA agent 33 iodide (8-32 μg/mL, 3-6 h) combines rapid bactericidal activity against S. aureus ATCC 29213 and MRSA N315, with low resistance induction potential[1].
Anti-MRSA agent 33 iodide (2-16 μg/mL, 3-6 h) has the effect of disrupting bacterial biofilms (S. aureus ATCC 29213 and MRSA N315)[1].
Anti-MRSA agent 33 iodide (2-128 μg/mL) demonstrates superior safety profiles with IC50 values of 22.48 and 27.45 μg/mL for RAW 264.7 and NIH 3T3 cells, respectively[1].
